We expect Lawrence and Roczen to be fast right? But what about Ferrandis? The results don’t show just how awesome Ferrandis was riding in Denver… he had the 3rd fastest average lap time of the race, trailing only the top two! Yes, Ferrandis was faster than Tomac, Webb, Stewart, Sexton, Cooper, etc.
Ferrandis started in 12th, but came on strong mid-race. He had worked his way up to 7th before crashing with Justin Cooper while trying to make a pass. He was right in the thick of that big battle just out the podium, and probably should have finished 4th (where Stewart finished) if not for that crash. He was on it… no doubt his best ride of the year; impressive indeed!
This continues a trend of steady progression for Ferrandis. He’s clearly getting more comfortable on the new bike, and Denver felt like a breakthrough in terms of outright pace. We haven’t seen top-three speed from him in a while, but this was a reminder of what he’s capable of… excited to see him outdoors!
Just wow. No one can beat this kid. He continues to impress… enough said. Best 250 rider we’ve seen in a long time… Bring on the 450s!
