Who was Most Impressive in Ohio?

450 Class: Ken Roczen

Roczen continues to be stellar. He had one off weekend in Nashville but rebounded in Cleveland. It was clutch: He had fallen 10 points behind Hunter, but made that all up in 1 race; he’s now just 1 point back!

Roczen’s riding in Cleveland was outstanding in all conditions. It was ultra impressive to see him dominate in tough conditions in Race 3; when others were struggling, he continued pushing forward. He was over a second faster than anyone else!

Roczen was stoked afterwards:

“Wow. I had no idea I was one point back [in the championship]. I am so blown away with the gamble we took with the weather. It was supposed to be clear for the last two races, but it kept raining. That affected my decision with goggles, and I kept sticking with roll-offs just to be safe. After I got the holeshot in the last race I had a clear track and just felt really comfortable. Once I had a gap, I just made sure I didn’t do anything silly. I’m just so grateful I’m able to ride like this.”

250 Class: Landen Gordon

In just his second pro race, Landen Gordon gets 2nd? Podium! And he almost won! The kid looks really comfortable on that Star Racing Yamaha, and has quickly adapted to the pro ranks. He’s smooth, in control, and generally looks like he belongs running near the front. Awesome to see, and very impressive!

Here’s what he said on the podium:

“If you would have told me after last weekend [finishing last] I’d be sitting on the podium, that’d be unbelievable. I’ve put in so much work into this. I’m backed by the best team, so I expect this, but it’s truly unbelievable. I have no words. I’m sure it’ll sink in, but right now I’m in shock.”
