What We Noticed: St. Louis We were in Missouri! The gateway to the West and host of Round 12 of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. Here’s What We Noticed:

  1. Roczen for Real

Here we go folks! Buckle up, the Roczen rocket is about to take-off! He’s now just 5 back of the points leaders… and he’s looking better than ever. He’s been our Most Impressive rider for the past 3 weekends in a row. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Kenny look so good; he’s kinda unbeatable right now!

  2. 450 Points!

Wow. 5 rounds left and we have a tie for the points lead?! 3 guys within 5 points?! It’s perhaps the most exciting championship battle we’ve seen in a while. All 3 of these guys have a genuine shot at winning the title, and they all have unique stories. See our Title odds for more of our thoughts.

  3. Tomac Troubles

Yeesh… Tomac told EVERYONE on Friday press day that he’s “physically” fine: “no injuries for Eli”. Well then… what is it? Should we put a stress on the word “physical”? Is he dealing with stuff mentally? Is it the bike? So many unanswered questions as to what’s been plaguing Tomac the past few weekends; something is clearly up. He has been testing and making changes to the bike, which points to him not being totally happy with it. However, he looked amazing to start the year and praised the bike loudly; why make changes away from that? The track in St. Louis was very similar to Seattle where Eli looked great, so it doesn’t appear to be specific to track conditions. Weird.

  4. Sexton Struggles

At this point it’s not even a What We Noticed… it’s almost just to be expected? He looked great last weekend in his return to racing, but that all came crashing down in STL. We talked to him at press day before the race and he just doesn’t seem excited; clearly he’s not happy with things right now.

  5. Danger Boy

He did it again: Haiden Deegan is your 2026 250W Champion. Well deserved; no one in this class is even close to him right now. But for the entire 250 Main we weren’t even thinking about the title… just thinking about how he would stack up in the 450 class; he looks so fast and ready to podium (win?) 450s already.

We talked to him on Friday and the title wasn’t even brought up... moving up to 450s is the real topic. Obviously he is grateful for the title, but it’s been pretty clear that barring injury he was going to win this championship; the focus really is now on 450s. He has been putting in a lot of prep to get used to the new bike for outdoors and seems super excited. We are too! Can’t wait to see him in the class that he belongs in.

  6. Nasty Track

Wow. Brutal track. It broke down a lot and those ruts were nasty. Davies mentioned it was the toughest track he’s ever ridden. As a result, not many battles out there… most guys just trying to survive.

  7. Poor Jo

Ugh hate to see this. It’s part of the randomness of this sport unfortunately: shitty starts can lead to shitty luck. Shimoda was barely clipped but it seems to have taken a bad toll on his leg. As of writing, we don’t have an update on him; hopefully it’s not too bad and we see Shimoda back soon.

Thanks for reading! Will be watching Nashville from home.
