Who was Most Impressive in Seattle?

450 Class: Eli Tomac

Tomac’s back on top of the podium! After a couple of off weekends with crashes, Eli rebounded excellently in Seattle with a dominating win. This is perhaps the Most Impressive win of the season for him… he caught and passed Webb on what is perhaps Webb’s best conditions. This has to be scary for his competitors right? He’s just a bit better than everyone else right now.

Tomac’s win also proves that the bike handles well in soft rutted conditions. He dominated at Anaheim and SD with dry hard-packed tracks, but this proves he had the bike setup for pretty much all conditions. At this point, the only thing stopping Tomac is himself.

Tomac was all game-face after the race though:

“It's just the typical mid-season stuff and I don't have the red plate, so I'm not happy about that. And I had a couple tough weekends, so it was frustrating and that's probably it, it is just mid-season, it's game time. Of course I want to have fun, I want to smile, but at the same time it's like, "I just lost the red plate. I was having a couple tough races, I really don't want to something happen again." So it's game time.”

250 Class: Levi Kitchen

Kitchen continues to rebound after a horrible start to the season. This was his most impressive ride yet: he caught up to, passed, and held off Deegan for quite a while. Yes, he didn’t win, but, it’s by far the closest anyone has been to challenging Deegan since A1; the two of these guys are simply at an entirely different level than the rest of the field.

It’s a shame that the 250W division is going on a break for several weeks… Kitchen is just starting to find his flow!

Despite the great ride, Kitchen was still a bit disappointed to leave his hometown race with a 2nd:

“I mean it was definitely tough. I'll probably watch the race back and be mad at myself for some stuff, but yeah, the difference between riding offensive and riding defensive is hard and that's where I got caught up. I'd say once I got the lead I felt like I put in a couple of good laps and got a gap and then started riding defensive when I hit some lappers and then he was there. So once we started doing the cat and mouse thing, it was like we weren't really racing forward, but we had to do that obviously. We were both going similar speeds tonight, so it was fun. But yeah, I would've liked to got that win.“
