1 | #7 | Aaron Plessinger | Fastest lap by far, quickly got into the lead and pulled away. Once he had a good lead it was just survival: no crashing. Plessinger loves the mud! First win of the year for him. |
2 | #12 | Shane McElrath | Good start, quickly got into 2nd, and kept Plessinger fairly honest for the first half of the race. Those first 3-4 laps were crucial to pull away from the rest of the field. This is a career-best for McElrath. Well-done! |
3 | #2 | Cooper Webb | Webb crashed near the beginning and was back in 9th. He crashed again on lap 3. But after that it was full-charge forward. He passed 3 guys on the last lap alone to get the podium. He was faster than Sexton by a full-second that last lap, and had gained ~45 seconds on him in the previous 3 laps. Very impressive mud ride for Webb! |
4 | #94 | Ken Roczen | Roczen started 5th and moved into a safe 3rd place around halfway. He had 3rd locked down, but stalled the bike on the start straight on the last lap and lost almost a full-minute to guys behind him: ultimately resulted in him losing that podium spot to Webb. Roczen aggravated an ankle injury earlier in qualifying and was questionable just to race, so I think this is a great result for him. |
5 | #51 | Justin Barcia | Barcia was in 3rd for the first few laps but then crashed back to 5th. Him and Sexton were battling for 4th in the last couple of laps, but both of them lost a spot to Webb. Kinda feel like Barcia should have been better in the mud right? Regardless, it's only his second top 5 of the year so he should be happy about that. |
6 | #4 | Chase Sexton | Sexton started behind Webb originally. He passed Webb when Webb fell, and then started a good charge from 6th up to 2nd (he had caught and passed McElrath). It was looking like a great points night for Sexton, but he then crashed while rolling the finish and took a while to get going. He never really found his pace again after that. Webb eventually caught him and passed him while Sexton was battling with Barcia for 4th, and then Sexton crashed / got stuck on the last lap. He was the last rider on the lead lap. Should have been a lot better for Sexton... disappointing result. But in these conditions it could have been worse so.... not too bad? |
7 | #57 | Benny Bloss | He crashed on the first lap and was pretty far back, but seemingly didn't crash again after that and was able to work his way up to a career-best finish! He was matching the lead pace for the last few laps. |
8 | #45 | Colt Nichols | Nichols started in the top 10 for maybe the first time this year? He was consistent and I think managed to stay off the ground (or at least never had a super slow lap-time). At one point he was battling with Webb and even passed him, but lost the tow and then got passed by Bloss on the last lap. It's a season-best for him though! |
9 | #208 | Logan Leitzel | Leitzel was pumped just to make the main, his first main ever. But then he goes out and gets a top 10?!?! Crazy good result for the privateer. He started in 11th and just rode clean laps to stay near that top 10 range. He finished behind Justin Cooper, but Cooper got docked 2 spots so Leitzel was awarded with the 9th. |
10 | #14 | Dylan Ferrandis | Ferrandis struggled with crashes in the main but looked good earlier in the day. He was pretty far back to start, so coming back to 10th is alright for him. |
11 | #32 | Justin Cooper | Cooper holeshot, looked good for a quarter of a lap, and then things started to fall apart. Crashes, getting stuck, cutting the track, etc; it was a struggled to finish laps consistently. Consequently, he dropped back to 9th by the checkers, and then was docked 2 spots for cutting the track. |
12 | #711 | Tristan Lane | Lane was simply one of those guys that made it through cleanly. He was back in 18th to start, but mostly kept it on two wheels and was able to progress up to 12th by the end. This is a career best finish for him (it previously was a 13th back in SLC 2023)! |
13 | #27 | Malcolm Stewart | Stewart should have finished so much better. He was in 7th but then got stuck for about a minute on the second lap. He had made his way up to 10th before getting stuck again on the last lap, this time for about 90 seconds. He looked good in the mud earlier in the day, but luck wasn't on his side in the main. |
14 | #122 | Justin Starling | Starling had one really bad lap towards the end which dropped him from 12th to 14th, but other than that it was a decent mud race for him, and a season-best result. |
15 | #146 | Kevin Moranz | Moranz was basically in last for the first couple of laps, but kept chugging along and passed others while they were down. Consistent laps allowed him to move up to 15th, a season-best for him. |
16 | #282 | Bubba Pauli | Big congrats to Pauli for just getting it into the main; he's a true privateer that keeps going for it, and it finally paid off again (it had been since 2019). This is also his career-best, so I imagine he's stoked! He was up in 13th at some point, but had some bad laps towards the end. |
17 | #28 | Christian Craig | Craig is probably wishing he had waited a few rounds before returning... things haven't been going well. He was back in 20th and made his way up to 15th before crashing / getting stuck / whatever... doesn't matter, when guys like Pauli, Starling, Leitzel, and Moranz are beating him he'll be disappointed. But he gets a pass cause of the crazy conditions. |
18 | #43 | Grant Harlan | I always assumed Harlan would be a good mud rider because he's so great outdoors... alas, apparently he is not and he hates mud. His bike got stuck on the last lap and he DNFed, but he was in 18th anyways so it didn't matter. |
19 | #68 | Jeremy Hand | Hand was up to 12th at one point but crashed / got stuck for multiple laps in a row and was wayyyy back. He kept going, but was lapped by Plessinger multiple times. |
20 | #49 | Mitchell Oldenburg | Oldenburg was looking great in 6th but then it struck... he DNFed on lap 4. Not sure what happened, must have ruined the bike or got stuck in mud or something. |
21 | #11 | Kyle Chisholm | Chisholm was not having fun out there... not an ideal last Foxboro race for him. He was near the back of the pack, got stuck, and then pulled-off I think.... |
22 | #72 | Anthony Rodriguez | Rodriguez crashed right away... it was hopeless from the start. He eventually just pulled off on lap 3. |
1 | #10 | Chance Hymas | Hymas quickly got into the lead and checked out; awesome way to get his first win! He kept fast laps the whole way and was very impressive in the mud. Never really had a real challenge for the lead, so I'm excited to see what he can do in drier conditions: does he carry this momentum over? |
2 | #59 | Cullin Park | Park got a great start and found himself in 2nd pretty quickly. He knew he was in 2nd, and just wanted to keep in on two wheels. He had a massive gap over everyone behind him which made it a lot easier. Big congrats on the career-best and first podium! |
3 | #75 | Gage Linville | Linville crashed in the 1st turn and rounded the first lap in 18th... from there he stayed consistent, passed a bunch of guys, and impressively came all the way up to 3rd; ultra impressive! To make it even better, he had no idea what place he was in.... he mentioned when the crossed the finish line he was hoping he got a top 10 (which would have been his career-best); luckily for him it was 3rd! Awesome to see. |
4 | #148 | Justin Rodbell | Rodbell dropped down to the 250s for this round after normally racing 450s; great move! He was within the top 5 the entire race and kept it on 2 wheels to get this career-best. |
5 | #34 | Daxton Bennick | Bennick started in 8th and slowly made his way forward to 5th. He was wayyy behind Rodbell in front of him, so the last few laps were just salvage-mode. That's now two 5th places in a row... good result (the 2nd-best factory rider). |
6 | #195 | Lance Kobusch | Kobusch started in 12th and put down some solid consistent laps to move up to 6th. He was a lap-down at the end but it doesn't matter; great ride resulting in a career-best! He has been a solid main event guy all season, so hopefully this confidence is something he can build off of. |
7 | #192 | Jack Chambers | Chambers started in 14th but kept it on two wheels and this is the result: a career-best 7th. Congrats! He didn't make the main last round in Birmingham, so this is a great rebound for him. |
8 | #62 | Mark Fineis | Fineis was up in 5th and looking great to start, but crashed on the 2nd lap and fell all the way back to 19th. It seemed his chances of a good result were over at that point, but he stayed consistent and somehow worked his way back to the top 10 with guys crashing in front of him (in one lap he passed from 19th all the way up to 11th). He looked comfortable with his new bike and in the mud all day; big congrats in only his 2nd main event. |
9 | #56 | Seth Hammaker | Hammaker got caught up in the 1st turn crash and slowly worked his way up to 8th. He then got passed on the last lap by Fineis; I'm not sure if Hammaker crashed or if he was just struggling in the conditions. Regardless, he's now tied for the points lead so he has to be generally satisfied with the night. |
10 | #996 | Preston Taylor | Taylor started in 17th and stayed off the ground to get his first top 10! He last made the main in Denver last year, so just making the main is a good feat. |
11 | #89 | Trevor Colip | Colip had a great start and was in 2nd for the first lap before dropping back to 4th. He then crashed all the way back to 17th, but kept it on two wheels after that and rebounded to 11th (tying his career-best set in his very first race last year). |
12 | #489 | Ricci Randanella | It's Randanella's first main! I doubt he was expecting to make it in, so anything beyond that is just a plus. But to end up 12th is great. He was consistent in the mud and didn't crash too much, which is all you needed to get a decent result. |
13 | #55 | Henry Miller | Miller was way back after a couple crashes, but did make up some time in the last couple of laps. He was close to Randanella at the finish and most likely would have passed him if he had another few corners. |
14 | #24 | RJ Hampshire | Hampshire is always going to send it... this time it resulted in a nasty crash entering the first turn. I think he's lucky just to be okay, but he got up and put a charge in. He actually was up to 11th on the 2nd lap, but crashed again and it was too hard to make up more time. Luckily for him, his main points competitors also had bad nights so he ended up closing the points gap. |
15 | #437 | Vincent Luhovey | Luhovey last made the main last year, and was pumped just to get it into the main tonight. He really struggled in the mud though and couldn't match the pace of anyone in front. Luckily a lot of guys struggled, and he ended up with his career-best nonetheless. |
16 | #142 | Crockett Myers | The first main of the year for Myers too. He was basically in last to start, but passed some down guys and got up to 13th before crashing back again. |
17 | #734 | Dayton Briggs | Briggs first ever SX and he is leading laps! Super cool to see him leading the first couple of laps. Unfortunately he fell a couple times and dropped wayyyy back, but for him to just lead for a bit must feel like a huge win. Congrats! |
18 | #92 | Maximus Vohland | Vohland looked great in his heat, but got a mid-pack start and then fell all the way back to dead last (he was up to 7th before crashing). At that point he was already a lap down, and the best he could salvage was 18th. Not great... |
19 | #41 | Nate Thrasher | Thrasher got a bad start after going through the LCQ but slowly made his way up to 11th. But something must have happened because he didn't come around the final lap, so maybe he got stuck? Sucks for him after winning in Birmingham... but he's already out of the points chase so from here on out it's just about getting wins. |
20 | #188 | Hamden Hudson | Hudson backs up his Birmingham main event with another main event! He started well in 10th, but crashed and had problems and dropped all the way back. |
21 | #137 | Ayden Shive | Shive started in last and that was that... this is his second main event of the year at least! |
22 | #1 | Tom Vialle | Oh no Vialle. Tom was looking great in 4th and was poised to increase his points lead significantly, but crashed and got stuck... by the time he remounted he was multiple laps down: worst-case scenario. Luckily for him, Hammaker and Hampshire also had bad nights; he's still tied for the points lead. |
