#108 Dylan Ferrandis (Star Racing Yamaha):

This was a pretty easy decision: Dylan Ferrandis was without a doubt the Most Impressive 250 rider at Glen Helen.

Ferrandis has been highly improving since first racing in the U.S. earlier this year. As admitted by him (read our interview with him here), adapting to Supercross was a struggle. However, he made it look easy, and by the end of the season Ferrandis was consistently up at the front with the best of them. For a rookie SX season, it was about as good as you could ask for.

Needless to say, I expected Ferrandis to be fast outdoors. After seeing how well he rode indoors, Ferrandis ought to feel more comfortable in a familiar environment (that being outdoor motocross). Sure enough, he looked super comfortable at Hangtown right away, but unfortunately one minor mistake caused him to crash and he was forced to sit out the remainder of the day. However, he bounced back for Glen Helen! After a disappointing first moto with a crash, Ferrandis got off to an amazing start in the second moto, and quickly pulled away with the lead. Zach Osborne dominated at Hangtown, but he had absolutely NOTHING for Ferrandis at Glen Helen. It was super impressive.

Even considering the first moto, Ferrandis came from outside the top 20 to begin with, then crashed midway through the moto, but still came back for a top 10 finish. Ferrandis is fast folks!

All in all, I’m REALLY impressed with Dylan Ferrandis so far. That ride in the second moto at Glen Helen was unreal. Expect him to be a threat for moto wins all season!
