#33 Josh Grant (Monster Energy Kawasaki):

Josh Grant is back!! After double ankle surgery last year, Grant has been warming up all year. He had a season best race to finish 3rd at Las Vegas SX a few weeks ago, and he carried this momentum over into the opening round of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this past weekend at Hangtown. Grant finished 3-3, a finish that I wasn’t expecting truthfully.

I think Grant is definitely a top 10 rider in this field. We know he’s fast outdoors especially, but sometimes he seems to just lack that “it” factor (the “it” factor being what propels top riders to the podium consistently). It’s tough to say whether or not Grant has found that after just one round, but he looked on “it” at Hangtown. Grant got good starts all day, and rode smooth on a super gnarly track. He led for a long part of moto 2 as well, and it wasn’t just luck! Musquin started in 2nd, but Grant was able to hold him off and even pull away slightly in the first half of that moto.

Glen Helen is up next, and we all know Josh Grant always feels “it” there. Regardless of how Grant has performed leading up to Glen Helen, he somehow excels on that track. Look fro Grant to be back on the podium this weekend, and potentially even snag a moto win!
