#3 Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki):

6 rounds left in the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, and Eli Tomac has closed it up to within 12 points of Ryan Dungey. 12 POINTS!! This is some serious pressure that Dungey has never really had leading into the final stretch of the season, and all of us race fans couldn’t be happier… it’s on!

Honestly, since round 4 in Phoenix, Tomac has been the man to beat; definitely the fastest every weekend.  Things were no different in Indianapolis, where Tomac was once again unstoppable, claiming his third win in a row. He got off to a good start, made some quick passes to get into the lead, and then was gone; Dungey had absolutely nothing for him.

The type of race that we saw in Indianapolis is exciting for race fans in terms of the championship points battle, but definitely scary for Dungey. Truthfully, at this point, Dungey must be thinking that there’s no way he can straight up beat Tomac. All of the momentum is for Tomac now! The way he was able to gap Dungey in Indianapolis was impressive, and the closer this series gets to completion, Tomac’s performances get more and more impressive. He’s not cracking under the pressure, he’s full focus, performing each and every weekend. His performance to do this once again in Indy and close up the points standings even further makes him the Most Impressive 450 Rider at Indianapolis.

Expect him to continue closing up the points deficit as the series get closer to Vegas!
