In perhaps one of the most unexpected fill-in rides ever, Factory Yamaha announced today that Josh Hill will be filling in for Justin Barcia in Seattle. (And yes, this is a few days after April 1st, so no, it’s not April fools!).
It’s been a few years since we’ve last seen Hill race, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy. Hill has preoccupied himself working with Monster Energy, and has raced snowcross and a Canadian arenacross in the last few months alone. Neither his X-Games snowcross appearance nor his northern arenacross races have gone well though, but we will see if Hill can turn it around this weekend in Seattle.
A few things that Hill does have going for him: Seattle is his hometown race, 50% of the 450 field is out injured (a.k.a. easier to qualify), and it’s going to be a mudder. Should be exciting to watch at the very least, but I’m not expecting much from him in terms of results.

So stoked to announce I’ll be lining up this weekend in Seattle. And even more excited that I will be riding under the @monsterenergy @yamahamotorusa tent. Not to mention I have the baddest mechanic in the pits and my longtime friend @longhorn301 wrenching for me. Couldn’t of dreamed of a cooler way to come out of retirement on the @supercrosslive stage.
