Mike Alessi crashed at press day in St. Louis, resulting in a broken collarbone. He will be out for the rest of the series.

It was recently announced that Alessi will be joining the Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki team to race up north in Canada this summer for the second year in a row. It’s expected that he will be healed up by then.

Watch the crash, and see Alessi’s statement below:

My Opinion: Well, Alessi has had a pretty awful year so far, so this crash is just a continuation of that. He got hurt earlier in the year and missed a few rounds as well.

Alessi is normally known for his great starts, but even those have been off this year. I’m sensing a retirement coming from Mike soon (as in within the next couple of years) because he just doesn’t have the pace that he used to. Unfortunately, he never has really lived up to the hype from his amateur career.

He’s off to Canada for the summer once again, so best of luck to him up there.

Heal up soon!
